11U Major & 11U Minor (Provincial Teams)
Formerly 11U AAA-AAA-A, the shift to Major & Minor was made by Baseball New Brunswick for the 2022 season. This move by Baseball NB is designed to allow more players the opportunity to enhance skills and play at a competitive level across the province. Based on the forecasted number of 11U players registering with our association, we will have two 11U Major teams per Baseball NB guidelines. If player numbers and coaches allow, we also will have an 11U Minor team.
Teams will have at least two evening field times per week (Sunday-Thursday) plus weekend games and tournaments. The season ends with Baseball NB Provincial Championships; teams across the province will be tiered into divisions based on regular season results.
A high level of commitment from players and families is expected; there is a provincial team fee in addition to the association registration, travel to away games/tournaments, occasional overnight stays, and Provincial Championship in late August or early September (dates TBD).
As the start of season approaches, watch for information on tryouts for our 11U teams.
Recreational Teams
For players and families who enjoy baseball though do not want the extra commitment of time, expense, and travel that comes with provincial teams.
Recreational teams have two ongoing field times per week (practices and games). Days of the week will be determined based on registration numbers and field allocations; except for special events, practices and games will be Sunday-Thursday evenings.
At the start of the season, players are evaluated to create balanced recreational teams. Watch for communication on evaluation dates/times at the start of the season.
